5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Media files (photos, avatars) are stored in Supabase Storage. Locally cached data (offline dives, audio recordings) is stored on your device and synced when you reconnect.
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Privacy Controls
- Private profile — enabling this hides your dives from other users' feeds and makes your profile unsearchable
- Delete account — you can request deletion directly in the app from your profile settings. Deletion begins a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel and recover your account. After 30 days, your account is permanently removed and cannot be restored.
- Access your data — you can export your dive log from within the app or request a copy by emailing hello@divecurrently.com
- Notification control — manage notification preferences in the app settings or your device settings
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion:
- A 30-day grace period begins. You can cancel and recover your account at any time during this window.
- After 30 days, your personal information — including your name, username, bio, profile photo, push notification token, and home location — is permanently deleted.
- Your Supabase authentication credentials are permanently removed.
- Your dive logs are retained in anonymized form (no longer linked to your identity) to preserve community data such as sighting records and dive site history.
- Photos and media associated with your account remain in storage in anonymized form.
We may also retain certain data where required by applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
CURRENTly is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
